SPECIAL: Hip-Hop Improv w/ Suzi Barrett

Service Description

All experience levels welcome. Improv & Hip-Hop. These are two incredible art forms that go great together…if you know what you’re doing. This workshop will teach you the techniques you’ll need to create comedic hip-hop on the fly, and allow you to practice your skills in a safe space full of fellow creators. About the Instructor: Suzi Barrett has been studying, performing, and teaching improv for 25 years. A student of io, The Second City, and UCB, she spent 3 years in Amsterdam performing with Boom Chicago before finally landing in LA. At UCB, she has taught all levels—including advanced study— and coached 6 Harold teams, many of which graduated to house team status. She’s also a member of the long-running house team Sentimental Lady, and co-produces / performs with Pretty Darn Queer. On the indie scene, she is half of the popular duo Elephants Gerald, and was the co-founder of LA’s indie training program Improv Bootcamp. Her TV credits include Drunk History, How I Met Your Mother, and Kirby Buckets, and she was a series regular on the half-improvised Disney sitcom Just Roll With It.
