Improv to Sketch with Will Nunziata

Service Description

An 8-week class with 12 students, plus a live performance. This class will help students use improv fundamentals to create a fully scripted, Second City style, sketch revue. Students will learn and practice what makes stage sketch comedy both interesting and challenging. The process will help you flesh out comedic concepts and create brand new ideas by using everything in our Improv Toolbox. This class will focus on building a strong ensemble, figuring out what is the funniest way to express an idea, and then at the end of the process, having a tight scene. The class ends with a performance that will showcase the students as both performers and writers. The Final Class ShowPerformance will be a showcase at FPI for friends, family and others. Prerequisites for this class: Some improv training at Front Porch or elsewhere. Improv fundamentals are a must. *Attendance is incredibly important.* If you are not in class, then your scene partners can’t work on your scene. If you can’t make all the classes, please do not sign up. Take the class in the future when you have the availability. About the instructor: Will Nunziata has been performing improv and sketch comedy since 1998. In his 25 years of comedy performance, based in NYC, he has toured the country with THE ROYAL WE & MOUSTACHE McFADDEN. He trained at Second City NY, The Upright Citizens Brigade and The Peoples Improv Theater where he was a longtime performer on some of the most engaging house teams, namely BIRDS, C MONSTER, DIVO, and THE STUDIO SYSTEM. His sketch play DYSTOPIA GARDENS ran for two years in NYC concluding at the New York Fringe Festival where the New York Times called him “very funny” and “portly.” Will has appeared on MTV, HBO, Comedy Central and CBS as well as many, many commercials only some of which are now embarrassing. He also appeared in the hit video game RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2. Will is honored to now call Savannah the home for him and his family. He no longer has a gall bladder.
